Vintage images Baby cards

It's me again!

Still on vacation, so I'm just sharing some of my past cards with you all. I couldn't leave these two little darlings off my list of favorites now could I? I loved making these two and was so chuffed with how they came out. They took quite a bit of time to make but I think it was worth it!! Let me know what you think!

Penny Black - girl with pencil

Happy Friday everyone!

Here is another one of my cards that I made at the beginning of the year. This one has the stamp by Penny Black the little girl with a pencil. I added the sentiment "Just Because" so this card could be used for any occasion really. The colors on this card were a special request from someone, and although the card is quite plain, I still like it!

I hope when you are reading this I'm at least having a good time, coz outside right now the weather is horrible, thunder and lightning.....not at all boating weather....ooh wait a minute, I just looked over in the direction we are heading (I'm writing this on Friday May 22nd remember!!), and I see a little bit of a blue sky!!! Oh please let it be nice when we get to the boat ramp!!!

Hope you are all having fun and getting busy with the creative juices!!
Happy crafting!

Penny Black - Uplifting!!!!

Well I figured what the heck I've been showing some of my previous cards and this has to be one of my favorites coz it was so much fun to make! I already knew what I was going to do with this one even before I received the stamp!!! LOL
I adore this Penny Black stamp and could just imagine my cat doing this!!!! Too funny! Anyway, this one was colored with prismacolor pencils and the undies and hankie were embossed to make them all shiny!! I cut out and raised the image to make it look like they were hanging on a washing line! It was a little time consuming cutting all the bits out but I love how it turned out! I think the colors made the image stand out and of course I had to show the inside too!! I finish all the insides of my cards to coordinate with the outside, don't like to leave them blank!

Card recipe
DP - Best occasions
Stamp - Penny Black - Uplifting
Scalloped edging - Martha Stewart edge punch
Ribbon - Michael's (I think)

These posts are going to get shorter coz I am writing them all in one shot!!! See you all when I get back!

Sugar Nellie - Reflective

Hope you all enjoyed a really great and safe Memorial Day!

Another one of my past cards that was made in February this year. I just love this image of the little girl in dungarees (overalls) with plaits (braids) .....that was so me growing up.....tomboy! Anywhoo, this image is another one I own from designer Elisabeth Bell.....maybe I should take stock in her!!!!! LOL

I colored the image in prismacolor pencils and raised her on dots. Glittered parts of her hair, pockets, and flowers to give her a little sparkle. I machine stitched the card inside and out and added some cute little embellishments.

Card recipe
Stamp - Elisabeth Bell - Reflective
DP - making memories Simply Fabulous - Brooke narrow stripe and Brooke paisley
chipboard buttons - colorbok

MIdnight Madness MMSC 3

Happy Tuesday Folks!

If this post works you should be seeing it on May 26th!!!! I've tried to schedule things before and they have not worked!!!

Hope everyone is ready for the Midnight Madness challenge today!!! Yes it's that time again when we show how creative we can get with the 3rd MMSC...and I know we have had some absolutely fabulous entries. Great job everyone who entered.....and if you didn't....what yer waiting for....there's an awesome prize to be won and this is soooooo much fun so come on down and play!!! Check out the site at Priscilla's, get all the details and get cracking!!!

This time I decided to use a vintage image I've had for a while but never used. I love this picture.....the little girl, flowers and colors are so pretty, don't you think? The dp I used is from DCWV Old World Stack.... the ones I chose are embossed so give a nice texture to the card. I don't own all those fancy embossing tools (yet), so when a designer paper is embossed, I'm loving it!!! I layered the image with pop dots to give extra dimension, sprinkled the flowers with sparkling embossing powder and raised them and her bow higher with dots. All the flowers are from Prima and the ribbon is some left over holiday wired edge from Michael's. I stitched the card and added a ribbon buckle from Joann's.

Card recipe
DP - DCWV Old World Stack & Glitter Christmas stack
Ribbon - Celebrate It, Holiday ribbon bow tique from Michael's
Flowers - Prima, Nursery Rhymes from Michael's
Ribbon Buckle - JoAnn craft essentials
Image - S. Paxton

Let me know what you think!

Sugar Nellie - A Good Book

Happy Memorial Day to You all!

Here's on of my cards I made way before having a blog, and I just loved how this one came out. One of my favorite stamp artists is Elisabeth Bell and this one is called "A Good Book", the little cat and butterfly are from one of her other little girls but I chose to add them to this card. I hand cut the tree and grass.....which seemed to take forever! The leaves were stamped from a set of floral stamps I have then cut out by hand and placed on dots to make them stand out. This card was very time consuming but I figured it's a one of a kind....yeah right.....I ended up making a second one as I had a special request for it! The image is colored in prismacolor pencils and sparkly embossing powder was added to the book, flowers on her hat and tree. Let me know what you think.

card recipe
dp - Making memories ice blue, expresso and emerald green textured
Stamp - Elisabeth Bell - A good Book and Planting Some Love
Glitter - Martha Stewart -Brownstone
Leaves - All Night Media, Bouquet set

Hope you like it!

Penny Black Cat in a Hammock!

Happy Saturday!

Well, I figured that as I am on vacation with no access to the computer I should leave you at least with something to look at!! This card was made back in February but I thought it quite appropriate as I am out on a boat, probably in the ocean and not swinging between two palm trees......but you never know!!
I love this image from Penny Black and actually got permission from the official headquarters that I can get this image painted on the back of our boat!! Not done it yet, but can't wait to sport this lazy cat on the ocean!!!
I colored cat in a Hammock with prismacolor pencils and added some sparkly embossing powder, made him 3d with pop dots and added the braided shiny string and metal shell beads to add to the beachy effect. I hope you like it.

card recipe
cardstock - Best occasions
white vine embossed paper - Making Memories white vines
stamp - Penny Black cat in Hammock
metal shell beads - party fun pack beach
shiny string - Martha Stewart

Have a great weekend!

DUSTIN PIKE NEW IMAGES!!

WANNA HULA HULA??
Miss Hawaiian Monkey 2009!!Happy Thursday everyone!

So what are you all up to?? Having some fun in the sun??? If you're not, you should be!!! Just like little monkey here.....go ahead do the hula dance...you'll feel better for it! Well, today is Dustin's new release day!!! Can we say WHOOO HOOO YEAH! I wish I'd had more time to work on more images but things have been busy with Thijs' end of year at school......yep, tomorrow is his last day of pre-K.....so I've been burning the midnight oil trying to get the teacher's gifts and cards made, and making goodies for their "Beach Party" today!

Anywhoo, I had a blast with this monkey image, it was so fun to make and I know there will be more, many more coz you can do so many things with Dustin's images....they just make you feel like a kid again..........and this one cracked me up!! I colored the images with copics, made some parts 3d with pop dots, added some Hawaiian flowers and leaves and voila....there you have it! Miss Hawaiian Monkey 2009!! I love to stitch my cards to give a little extra detail so this one is stitched inside and out. The ALOHA saying I was originally going to put on the front of the card but then decided to put the little masks....think that was a much better choice. All those funky faces and Miss Hawaiian Monkey beaming her innocent smile! Hey wait a minute.....don't you think she looks a bit pale?? Maybe I should have made her darker, nah, she can get some color from hanging out at the beach!

Well, that's it for today, but before you leave hop on over to Dustin's hangout, check out what's going on over there and don't forget to checkout the other designers creations.......they are getting really creative!!! click on the team members names on my sidebar.....You will be glad you did!

Have a fabulous Thursday!
Hugs to you all,
Charlotte

DUSTIN PIKE SNEAK PEAK!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Well we are half way through the week.....again......where does the time go, I have no idea but I have sooooo many things to do over the next couple of days before vacation........ I feel like a chicken with my head cut off!! LOL

Anywhooo, it's freebie time over at Dustin's place, Dustin's place, Dustin's place...it's freebie time over at Dustin's place.......tra la la la la!!! (Blame Spyder girl for that one!!!!!) You don't want to miss this freebie..................it's adorable!! I haven't had the chance to make a card yet, but will definately be having a go at coloring the image....even if it's in the car waiting in line to pick up my son!!! The teacher's must think I'm nuts coloring!!! It's just that Dustin's images are just too much fun to work with!! They're addicting I tell you!

The design team have some awesome sneak peaks, so head on over to their blogs and check them out!! I made my party animals for my sneaky peaky for tomorrows release. I punched a car image from Sizzix out of yellow foam then colored the animal images in copics and prismacolor markers, popped them all in the vehicle with dots to make them stand out, then added more foam decorations around the outside. The "celebrate" sign is from JoAnn Craft Essentials. The foam accessories are from creative hands.

Card recipe
Cardstock - Expresso and Primary orange from the Paper company
Car front - Sizzix #38-0133
Images - Dustin Pike
Foam accessories - creative hands

SOOOOOOO.........For all you Dustin Pike fans out there...let me know what you think!
Enjoy your day!

Charlotte
