DUSTIN PIKE'S GOTH DRAGON

Happy Friday Folks,
Are you all ready to start your weekend? I know I am!! I am soooo late with this entry, but I have been promising Vicki over at Saturday Spotlight that I would participate in one of her challenges once school started again!!! Sorry Vicki....it's taken me a lot longer than I thought!!! Anyway, this card was made for 3 challenges, the first one was Saturday Spotlight - Halloween but not! The second was for Mojo Monday - the sketch is from them and the third was for The Pink Elephant challenge - use the colors black, purple, orange and white! In this photo it actually looks a little blue but in real life it is dark purple!! The image of course is from Dustin Pike, and this one is called Goth Dragon! Isn't he cute? He printed out really light so he doesn't stand out very well but he's cuter in person!!
Card Recipe
Image - Dustin Pike digi- Goth Dragon
dp - core'dinations
ribbons - Orange basic narrows from Michaels, black satin also from Micheal's
gems - recollections from Michael's
Hope you all enjoy a wonderful weekend!

CLP5

Happy Thursday everyone!
Today I have a quick post as I'm in a hurry, but thought I should put something on here as I missed yesterday! This card I made for CLP5 over at Chelsea's place. If you haven't tried her sketches out yet...what ya waiting for?? Anyway, this is one of Chelsea's sweet little girl stamps that I used and colored her in copics, then glittered her bathing suit and glazed over her sunglasses to add a little sparkle and shine! I have to admit that I'm not 100% sure about this card....sorry Chelsea! Not sure what it is that bothers me....maybe the image is too big, the flowers too big or the ric-rac is over powering....or maybe all of the above! Well, it was either I put it in a box to give away or enter it anyway...so I chose to enter it. Hopefully next weeks entry I will be happier with.
Card recipe
Image - Gurlee Girl by Chelsea Dang
dp- core'dinations, making memories
flowers - Micheal's florals
Sea shell embellishment - from my stash
Gems - from stash
ribbon - Christmas collection from Michael's (last year)
slate blue gems - Recollections from Michael's

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day!
Hugs,
Charlotte

We are so happy to announce that this week we have the wonderful Simon Says Stamp sponsoring us for our weekly Bonus prize for MMSC22. They are always one of our favorite sponsors because they have over 100,000 items in stock and ship USA orders over $60 and International orders over $120 for free. We are pleased to have them as a reoccurring sponsor here at the Midnight Madness sketch challenge blog. Be sure to stop in and check out all they have to offer.

Our Monthly sponsor is Gurlee Girl Designs and we can't thank Chelsea enough for giving the DT her entire stamp selection to create our cards with this month. Not only is Chelsea such a generous lady but she is also one of the most detail oriented people when it comes to her cards and layouts.....you should check out her blog.....if you haven't already!

For my card this week I chose the Hot Cocoa sweetie. I had so much fun creating her that I also made a cute little covered box to go along with the card. The image is colored slightly different but thought it would make a nice set for some little girl somewhere! I colored the image in prismacolored pencils and OMS, dry embossed the blue background paper with snowflake embossing folder from cricut, added lots of ribbon from JoAnn's and a little fur to make her look like she's sitting on a cozy rug!! The snowflakes are from my stash from last year and the gems are from Michael's. The inside is also decorated, but I ran out of time to photograph that!

Thank You for stopping by, I'd love to hear what you have to say......and don't forget to visit my DT sisters to check out their works of art.

Hugs, Charlotte

DUSTIN PIKE BLOG CANDY FOR A GOOD CAUSE!

My second post today!
Please hop on over to Dustin's site to get all the details of his blog candy!
Here's a brief synopsis, as per Dustin of what you need to do:
"Donate 5 or 6 Cards, does not have to be Christmas, some others might be good so that people can use them for the rest of the year as well. Send them to myself or the hospital once I get the address I will let you all know. Cards can be the same, can be different, they are asking..."It is helpful if the donor includes the cost of materials for each item. Our goal is to price items at market value. The quality of work, the cost of materials, and the colors influence the price.Just for playing along I will send each person a download link for 30 images once I receive the cards. And one lucky random winner will receive a hand sculpted Doodle Christmas Dragon ornament... (photo coming soon) IF you live out of the US and you are the chosen random winner I will still send the ornament to you. Don't worry about postage, this is open to everyone...Questions, comments, concerns...dustin_pike@yahoo.com"

This blog candy is to donate money to a local Primary Children's Medical Center in Utah. Please check out the rest of the details over at Dustin's.

I know there are going to be many places to donate during the upcoming holidays, so let's make a difference and use our creativity to help others in need!

WEEKEND PHOTOS....STILTSVILLE!

MIAMI VICE ANYONE?

THESE PHOTOS ARE OF STILTSVILLE IN BISCAYNE BAY (USED ON MIAMI VICE)

SUNSET ON THE WEST AND THE MOON RISING ON THE EAST!

Good Monday Morning to you my fellow crafters!
I hope you were all able to participate with the World Card Makers Day on Saturday and had fun with whatever you chose to do! I need to check out some of the blogs later to see what you all made! As I was out on the ocean the whole weekend I don't have a card to show today, but I figured I'd share a couple of photos instead. These were taken over the weekend and although not everthing went as planned (generator didn't cooperate so it was a sleepless, hot night on Saturday), we still made the most of the beautiful weather. There were lots of boats out at Elliot Key and many of them stayed the night as we did. It was lovely to be able to look out over the West side of the boat to see the sunset then turn around and look over at the East where the moon was rising! Arjan said that it was the full moon that made things not cooperate with us.....ok honey.....keep thinking that!!! LOL
Yesterday after swimming with the fish for a couple of hours, having a lazy day and a barbecue we set off for a ride on the open ocean to see what we could find. We ended up at Stiltsville to see what was left of it. Back in the 1920's to 1930's apparently there were as many as 27 houses out in Biscayne Bay, now there are only 7 remaining. Most of them were destroyed by hurricanes and the fate of the last ones is still uncertain. There are historians who want to preserve stiltsville but the National Park wants to tear them down, so who knows what will happen to them. It's a little bit of Miami's history, one that was famous for several episodes of Miami Vice and also Bad Boys II.
OK History lesson over for today!!! LOL
Enjoy the rest of your Monday, tomorrow don't forget to check back for Midnight Madness!!
Hugs,
Charlotte

CLP4 (Inger Harding image)

Happy Friday Everyone!
Hopefully you are all getting ready for a fun weekend and looking forward to tomorrow being World Card Making Day!! Do you have any special plans for this? I'd love to hear about them!
I'm actually not going to be able to participate in anything as we are off for a weekend on our boat....it's been a while since we went out so are looking forward to getting off our property and being out on the ocean! Just hope the weather will cooperate!

OK., onto today's card. This one I made for CLP4 over at Chelsea's blog. I used another image from the talented Inger Harding, colored in prismacolored pencils and OMS then chalked the edges. I stitched the edges of the card using red metallic thread, added several different ribbons, popped the image out using foam squares and added the flowers and leaves to the corners (this wasn't on the sketch, but I liked the look). The Prima embossed flowers are from one of my DT sisters Sue McMahon's store....please see my side bar for McMahon Five Designs store. The leaves and edging were made using Martha Stewart punches, ribbons and gems are from Michael's and JoAnn's.
I would love to hear what you think!
Hugs for a lovely weekend!

DUSTIN PIKE RELEASE DAY!

Happy Thursday Everyone!
You know what that means.....release day over at DUSTIN PIKE'S...and what cute images he has this week. I wish I'd had more energy to make more cards because I just loved playing around with these. The one's I've created are just the beginning so go check all of them out on Dustin's site, and please check out the other DT's cute creations too! I played around with the dragons and window for a while and then thought well, I think I like the idea for an Anniversary card....The little blue dragon is looking for his mate and she wants nothing to do with him!!! A little cheeky don't you think!!!
After I made the cloud castle image, I thought to myself....could've done that one as a pretty pink castle for a little girl card.....oh well! Next time!
I'm struggling today coz I haven't had much sleep over the past few days. Thijs has 3 wobbly teeth and I think he is concerned about them consciously and unconsciously, so he wakes up two or three times in the night and comes to me. I find myself walking him back to bed with my eyes closed....so I'm beat!
Card recipes:
Images - Dustin Pike digis
dp - core'dinations from JoAnn's
Ribbon - Basic Narrows (Black) and Martha Stewart Both from Micheal's
Gems - Martha Stewart
Edge trimmer - Martha Stewart

I hope you have a creative day!

Charlotte

The Midnight Madness Team is just thrilled with out sponsor this month. Chelsea from Gurlee Girl Design was VERY GENEROUS to our entire team. You will be getting a big treat, because we get to share some of her wonderful images on our sketch samples this month. Chelsea is a very talented artist and I just love her work, as I'm sure you will too.

Our weekly sponsor is Belles n Whistles!! They have some really fabulous stamps by the very talented Artist Elisabeth Bell. Summer from over at Belles ‘n Whistles is giving away two adorable stamps for the Bonus winner of this weeks Sketch challenge (MMSC21)

My card this week has one of Chelsea's adorable stamps, and is colored in prismacolor pencils and OMS. I stitched the black background, then layered the orange, dry embossed paper on pop dots. Added some black gems and the flower, complete with pin and that's it! I had so much fun making this one!

Four Challenges!

Happy Wednesday everyone!
I hope you checked out all the things going on over at the Midnight Madness site yesterday.....don't forget to mark your calendars for Oct. 16th when we have our BLOG HOP!!!
Today I have made a card for a few challenges. The first is CLP challenge, number 3, where Chelsea made a fabulous sketch! If you haven't checked out this challenge, you should do because Chelsea's sketches are fun to create with. The second challenge was OCC which was the color combo, pink, white, chocolate and hot pink. The third one was for Stamp Something which called for a creation using your favorite colors or dp......I used both!! I've just realised I can also add this to the Flutter By Wednesday Challenge as they are asking to create something with a flower and butterfly or fairy!! I thought about adding Stamp with fun to the challenges but not convinced that this really fits....they asked for something for Autumn! I don't think I'll enter it into that one.

I used a WOJ image and colored her in prismacolored pencils and OMS. dp is from S.E.I (brown butterfly paper) and K&Co., (pink & white floral paper), flowers are by prima, lace from JoAnn's, butterfly from Michael's.

Let me know what you think!
Enjoy the rest of your day!
Hugs,
Charlotte
