MIDNIGHT MADNESS (MMSC60)

Happy Tuesday everyone!
Another week is over yet again and I am counting my days until my trip to Holland, and realizing that I have so many things to do before I leave! Ahhhhh, can somebody please give me some more hours in my days??? OK...breath in and breath out! Phew!
Onto the important stuff first.....it's time for the next Midnight Madness sketch. Are you all ready? This weeks sketch was a fun one which I really enjoyed making, with the added bonus of using one of Priscilla's gorgeous butterfly digi stamps.
Congratulations to our winners this week

For my project this week I decided to make a set which includes a card, bookmark and thick style envelope. Both the card and bookmark are using the butterfly digi's from Priscillastyles-store...aren't they beautiful!
I colored the image with copics, made the one on the bookmark 3D using foam dots and glittered it with stickles.
The inside of my card
The envelope is made using coordinating paper. I stenciled both the front of the card and envelope using a stencil I won from Laura over at Layers of Color. Isn't it gorgeous! This stencil is called "Natural Flourish" and I am lovin' how it looks, I will use this over and over again for sure. If you haven't already been over to Layers of Color you should check out the lovely things they have over there and check out all the other stencils. You won't be disappointed! It's just hard to pick just one as each is so pretty and has so many uses, I feel creativity coming on for sure with this one.
A huge Thank you to Laura for this stencil.....I love it!
My envelope is a thick style from Priscilla's store so it has plenty of room to hold my card plus the bookmark. These envelopes are so easy to make and Priscilla has provided all the measuring for us, you trace around the template and fold as per her instructions and voila that's all there is to it...quick and easy!

A while ago I received an award from Lovely Linda where you are to tell 6 lies and 1 truth! Ok let's see if I can do this!!!

1. I own a 45 foot yacht called Sunny Breeze
2. I'm the youngest of 3 girls
3. I used to be a ballerina but had to stop because of a knee injury
4. I'm actually shorter than I look, I'm only 5' 2"
5. I only like white chocolate
6. I once cycled from Miami to Key Largo, two years in a row (without training!)
7. I can't cook!
So now I get to pass this on to 7 other people!!! LOL
I would also like to give these talented ladies the Blog Buddies Award for their friendship and beautiful inspiration. I received this award months ago from Lyn over at Spyders Corner.
I know I have another award from Elise that I still need to give out so I will try to get that done this week!

DOODLE DRAGON STUDIO CHALLENGE #13

Happy Sunday!
I know I've been MIA...sorry! but with the temperature here I've been dealing with headaches and sinus issues which has really taken a toll on me. Friday was the first day in 3 weeks that I actually feel like my head is clear!
I'm way behind on everything and so this card was a really quick creation for the Doodle Dragon Challenge #13 - Patriotic! Isn't he the cutest dragon looking so proud to be holding his American flag! This was one of Dustin's freebie's a couple of weeks ago and when I saw him I thought how perfect he would be for this challenge. I colored him in copics and chalked the edges of the circle, added some blue gems and the sparkly lettering (doesn't really show too well on this photo), and borrowed some gold stars from my son's stickers!!! With permission of course!
I hope you will play along with us this week and take a look at the DT's fabby creations too! You won't be disappointed! Don't forget to stop by Dustin's blog to see what's going on over there too!
For those of you who have been watching the World Cup and routing for the USA, this was a sad day to see them not go through to the next round! Today it is a sad day for England too! But, congratulations to Germany for a game well played!
Challenges I entered
One Stitch at a Time - Stars and stripes
Paper Sundaes - Birthday Card
Thanks so much for stopping by!

DOODLE DRAGON STUDIO CHALLENGE #12

Happy Sunday folks!
I hope you've enjoyed a good week and are getting some crafty fun stuff done this weekend! Is anyone watching the World Cup???? In our house we are going to be watching but of course are routing for different countries!!! LOL It makes for some interesting fun and some nailbiting times....that's if England and Holland get through to the next round!!
I have also been having some fun with this weeks challenge over at Doodle Dragon Studios which is to make a Father's Day card. Isn't this a fun card? I used a few of Dustin's adorable images that I had colored a while ago and decided to make a step card as I haven't made one in a while.
It's not easy to get a good photo of the whole card clearly so I focused on the three areas separately, here's the front
The middle with Watch out for Pirates!
and the back with Happy Father's Day and Beware of Polly! The pirate flag is glued onto a lollipop stick and placed on a velcro circle so when the card is given to the recipient they don't see the flag, then it can be stood up for added excitement!!! LOL This was supposed to be for my FIL but when my hubby saw it, he said how much he loved it, so it looks like this will be staying in this house as a Daddy's card from Thijs!! Now I need to figure out another card for my FIL!
I hope you will join us for this week's challenge and create something cute with Dustin's images!
Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs,
Charlotte

MIDNIGHT MADNESS (MMSC57)

Good Morning everyone!
How was your weekend? Did you do anything special? Mine was a busy weekend as we came back from a few days out on the boat to a house without air conditioning! AHHHHHH!  Now that wouldn't be so bad if you lived somewhere other than South Florida where the heat index felt like 107 degrees on Friday!!!! Nevertheless we now have a brand new air conditioner inside and out so we are enjoying the cool air once more! Phew! It's amazing how spoilt you get with the A/C!!!
Enough about the weather, onto more exciting things.....have you been over to Crafters Digital Art Center yet to check out all the amazing digi companies that got together...thanks to Priscilla? If you are like me and love to work with digi's you really should check it out, there are 24 featured companies and over 500 members as of typing this post! So what cha waiting for, go check it out!
Here at Midnight Madness we are on week 57 and ready for some more fun! The cards that were entered this week were again amazing, you all are getting so creative with your cards and the DT love to stop by your blogs and see them.

Now onto my project for this week. I think I am becoming addicted to altering boxes lately!!! This one was the inside packing box from an educational cd set I had for my son, and I couldn't just throw it away now could I? So, I decided to make it pretty and add it to the other altered boxes I have around the house.
It went from this
to this
from this
to this
I'm really happy with how it turned out and it was really easy to do. I covered it with some pretty dp from DCWV - Be Mine stack, added some lace around the front and back edges then decorated the front to match the sketch for this week. The only thing that's difficult to see is the bottom half under the main image is white with a pretty border punch (it got buried beneath the lace at the bottom). I added the pleated lace to the top and bottom and tied the satin ribbon all the way around to make it appear that it would open at the side. Instead it actually opens at the top! That way you don't have to untie the ribbon or disturb the butterfly!
I colored this sweet Tilda with prismacolored pencils then popped her up on foam dots, added some leaves from my Martha Stewart punch, some flowers and a pin with butterflies and beads and the little metal plate that says "sweet". I would love to know what you think of my re-used box!
Challenges entered
Just Magnolia - adding pleating
Charisma Cardz - Flowers
Your Next Stamp - Use a border punch (white area on bottom of box, click to enlarge photos)
Pollycraft - ribbon and bling
Cupcake Craft Challenge - Dazzle us (glitter on flowers, butterflies and shiny pin..may need to enlarge photos to see)

Thanks so much for stopping by and for all the lovely comments you have left for me!
Have a wonderful day!

MIDNIGHT MADNESS (MMSC56)

Happy Tuesday everyone!
I hope your Memorial Day weekend was a good one spent with family and friends! Here it is time for Midnight Madness again and this time we are on sketch number 56! First I need to introduce you to our new Guest DT's
                        Pam Lawver
Pam says "The main reason I first got into stamping was to scrapbook events and activities for my 2-year old son who has autism to assist with his language and communication skills. He is now almost 12 - I can't believe it!! I was a legal secretary for years and needed a creative outlet. So, it served 2 purposes. It, of course, didn't help my financial situation at all, but that's another story!! It then shifted more to cards several years ago. I found that when I handmade a card for my friends, family, church members and my son's school staff I could brighten their day and make them feel "special", for whatever occasion it happened to be, or comfort when they needed it. My craft room has grown CONSIDERABLY as I'm sure all of yours have too. It's great therapy for me and I've met some of the most incredible people EVER!"
Brenda Kluge
She says "I am a mother of 2 beautiful kids ages 20 and 9. I took up card making about 1 year ago and instantly fell in love with it! I joined the Midnight Madness Challenges a few months ago and the sketches, players, and design team have really made me open up to try different things. I am really looking forward to this experience to work side by side with these ladies"
Congratulations to all our winners this week including the Priscilla Award winner

For this weeks sketch I decided to make a little gift set for a new baby using this darling image from Shawne over at Studio313 creations. It comes already colored or you can get a black line image of it to color yourself.
I couldn't resist making another easel card as I didn't want to overload the main image with the little embellishments. This way I added the safety pins and peg onto the bottom half without taking the attention away from the sweet baby image!
Whilst covering the little box I thought of a ballerina's dress, so added some wider ribbon around the bottom to frill out to look like the bottom of the dress. Did I manage that effect ok?
Here's a closeup of the top of the box...isn't it cute? I love this image so much, especially as it's set against a black background, it really makes the baby stand out beautifully! Thank you Shawne for creating such cute digi's!
Challenges I entered with my creation
One Stitch at a Time - Use something new - circle box and wired ribbon
Alyssunday - Bows and ribbon
Allsorts - Black and White with one other color (pink)
One Stop Craft Challenge - Swirls and pearls (swirls on card, pearls on gift box)
Pixie Dust Studios - Going round and round (my gift box and image)
Whoopsi Daisy - Ribbons and Bows
Thank you so much for stopping by
Have a wonderful week!
