CLP18 - SATURDAY SPOTLIGHT - FLUTTERBY WEDNESDAY

Happy Thursday folks!
It's almost the weekend!!
Just a quick post to get this card into a couple of challenges. The first is for CLP18 over at Chelsea's blog which had a lovely sketch, the second challenge is Saturday Spotlight which asked for "Let the sunshine in"....I think my card shows a little sunshine with the color don't you think? I have been trying to get a card into this challenge for three weeks now and I keep missing the deadline (I will post one of the finished ones that didn't make it later on), Sorry Vicki! But I have to tell you that both Vicki and Crystal are so loyal with their comments on everything that I feel awful that I keep missing the deadline. This week I was determined to get it there ON TIME!!!
The third challenge is for Flutterby Wednesday where you need to use a butterfly, angel or fairy.

This precious image is from WOJ by artist Elisabeth Bell. Papers are from K&CO called Que Sera Sera, sentiment stamp is from whimsy stamps, daffodil flower is from Jolee's and the gems from Best Occasions. ribbon from Michael's and small flowers from Prima.
Thank you for stopping by today!

For today's challenge I created something a little different for me. These pretty flower and butterfly stamps are from prima and I decided to color them with prismacolored pencils and add a metallic embellishment in the center of the flower. The butterflies I added stickles to and some pink gems then poped them out on foam squares to give a little dimension.

I hope you will take the time to stop by my DT sisters blogs to check out their wonderful creations and don't forget to play along with MMSC38
Thank you for stopping by and for those of you who are sweet enough to leave me a comment! I so appreciate your kind words.

CLP15 and WOJ63

Happy Friday everyone!
I hope you are all ready for the weekend, ready to relax and do something fun!
This is just a really quick post today as I'm trying to get this card entered into two challenges....before I miss the deadlines!! The first challenge was for CLP15 over at Chelsea's blog and the second was for WOJ#63 This is the first time I've played WOJ and it was my sweet friend Elise who let me know about the challenge. By the way if you haven't checked out Elise's blog yet, please do, she is mega talented and super sweet to top it off! The image I used is by one of my favorite artists, Elisabeth Bell, and I've used many of her sweet little girls in my past cards but never played WOJ, so this is a new challenge for me! I have to admit though I did rush this card, which I usually don't like to do, I prefer to take my time on each one I create, but these last few days have been so busy I didn't even think I would get this one finished!!
Well, I hope you all enjoy a wonderful weekend!

CLP17 - FUSSY AND FANCY CHALLENGE - MO'S DIGITAL

Good Evening everyone,
I'm very late adding a post today but I've been trying to get some cards finished to enter into some challenges but it's not going as quickly as I'd hoped it would!!! Anyway, I have had this sweet image from Mo's digitals colored for a while and had wanted to use it over Christmas....as you can see that didn't happen, but now I figured, well it's still winter so this card could be used for a winter birthday right?
I actually made this using the sketch from Chelsea over at CLP.....it's been too long since I have played over there....sorry Chelsea! I'm also entering this into the Fusssy and Fancy Friday Challenge which has Winter as their theme this week!
So without further ado, I will bid you all a good evening and go attach this to the CLP blog!!
See you sometime before the weekend......I hope!

Charlotte

MIDNIGHT MADNESS (MMSC37)

Happy Tuesday everyone!
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend and were able to get some crafting done! I am actually proud of myself for finishing a couple of cards that were not complete, although I can't show you them yet!! The weather has finally heated up here and we have had temps back in the high 70's already. I was quite enjoying the cold spell, but I guess living here I can't expect it to stick around.
Now for the important stuff.....it's time for MMSC37 and you do not want to miss this one...check out Priscilla's blog for all the information, you'll be glad you did! We had a good turn out again this week and the DT enjoyed seeing all your lovely creations.
Congratulations to our award winners this week

Our sponsor this month is

and I have actually used one of their lovely images. I decided to make a book mark instead of a card, don't worry I won't be squishing the flowers between the pages....that's what the ribbon is for!! I like how this one came out, even though there are plenty of other crafty peeps who would have done a much better job than me on the vintage style! I did have to improvise a bit with my bookmark because of the lack of space, but I think you can see the sketch in it. Hey at least I gave it a shot!!
Our weekly sponsor is Charlene from
 Sweet Scrap Deal

Charlene says "After getting laid off last summer I decided to follow a passion of mine, scrapbooking. I love to scrapbook and shop for scrapbook products! My desire was to be a business owner and bring the best deals out there to scrapbookers and card makers. I began this online store with a vision of "one deal a day" but it has grown into so much more! You'll find that everything is on sale all of the time! There is also a clearance section with items that are priced so low, you can't afford not to scrap!I love being able to supply all of you with sweet deals on quality scrapbooking goodies.  For more information on my store and all the classes I offer, please visit my website at www.sweetscrapdeal.com or my blog http://sweetpiecesbyme.blogspot.com/"

I colored my image in prismacolored pencils, glazed over her dress with paper glaze then added some stickles. Around the edges I chalked to give it a vintage look.

At the top of the bookmark I added a copper metal tag that says remember, a few flowers and gems

the bottom was finished off with lace, ribbon, a flower and leaves.

So that's it for today! I would love to hear what you have to say about this bookmark!
Don't forget to check out my lovely DT sisters creations too!

Our monthly sponsor is D'Amour Allure, who have generously donated some beautiful stamps to the DT, so check out my other DT sisters creations this week!

For my card this week I chose one of Mo's digital images...Kai, isn't he the cutest ever! Makes you want to pinch his chuby cheeks!! Sitting catching the snowflakes...the pure innocence is captured beautifully in Mo's artwork and I just love this image so much.
Kai is colored in prismacolored pencils, the snow I made with flock, used tiny white pearls for the snowflakes and added some glitter glue on the little pom poms and around the edging. This beautiful dp is from SEI called wind song.

The snowflake is from Micheal's Christmas decorations and flower from Prima.

The inside of my card I left plain as I thought the dp was so beautiful, I just didn't want to hide it.

I would love to hear what you think of my card this week. I have to admit this is definately one of my favorites.

Charlotte

BRRRR.........IT'S COLD OUTSIDE!!!

Our fire we had yesterday!
Happy Monday Folks,
Brrrrrr it's cold outside...yes even here in Miami it is freezing!!! I went to take my son to school this morning and found the windshield of my truck frozen! Fortunately my hubby had purchased an ice scraper for our trip to Georgia over Christmas so I was able to easily remove the ice. I have seen baby lizards frozen and some that have gone into hybernation on my driveway because of the drop in temperature. This weather is so unusual for us and a lot of people are having a difficult time dealing with it because it is lasting more than a few days. I'm sure for many of you out there in the colder areas are also getting tired of the cold weather and snow and I feel for you! I love and miss the snow but if you have to deal with it on a daily basis I'm sure you it gets tiring really quickly.

A thin layer of ice on my windshield!
I hope that you were able to do something fun this weekend, even if it was cold. We went to a friends house on Saturday and enjoyed a barbecue (inside because of the weather), and yesterday we went to a New Years celebration with the Dutch club. Walking around Miami Beach though was definately chilly and we saw the unusual sights (for us) of people wearing hats, scarfs, boots, and gloves!!

On a different note, I hope you all enjoyed Dustin Pike's first blog hop and will be joining in with the new challenge! You have two weeks to join in as Dustin's challenge over at Doodle Dragon Studios runs every two weeks!!! So get your Valentine's/love projects in on Mr. Linky by January 23rd for a chance to win some of Dustin's adorable images!! Whoo hoo! What are you waiting for....get creating!!!

Don't forget to join in tomorrow for Midnight Madness MMSC36....and if you stop by Priscilla's blog you can get the sneak peak and start working on it. Each week now you will get more time to work on the challenges by getting the sneak peak at the top of Priscilla's blog!!!
Have fun, stay warm and Happy crafting!
See you all tomorrow!

DOODLE DRAGON STUDIO BLOG HOP!

Welcome to the first Doodle Dragon Studio Blog Hop! If you've arrived from Ri's blog, you're headed in the right direction. If not, start at the beginning on Dustin's blog .

We're very excited to announce a new challenge blog for Doodle Dragon Studio images, and the first challenge is TODAY! To kick it all off, let's have a blog hop featuring some new digi stamps. Make sure you leave comments on the design team blogs along the way, because three lucky commenters will be randomly drawn to win all five of the new digis Dustin is sharing today! Then, check out the first challenge for another chance to win new Doodle Dragon digis.

I used Dustin's Bear with the rose image for my easel card and dp and ribbon from last years stash.

I made a little heart door hanger that is two sided. I found the red heart hangers at JoAnn Fabrics in the Valentine's section.

So what are you waiting for...start hoppin', and we'll see you on the challenge blog! Your next stop on the blog hop will be Lelia at http://greengoddescreations.blogspot.com/

I'm having problems linking Lelia's blog so please type in the address if it won't connect you directly!
Don't forget to leave a comment on each blog!

MIDNIGHT MADNESS (MMSC35)

Happy New Year!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends and enjoyed lots of fun and good food!! Our trip to Georgia was great! A long drive but so worth it to be in some colder weather and to reconnect with family. Thijs really enjoyed his time with his cousins and had fun playing in the local parks. One thing did suprise me though, that I had forgotten how the winter weather turns the grass brown!!! Something we definately don't see in Miami and it made me realise I need to get out of here in the winter time again ~ maybe next time I will get to see snow!!

OK enough about my trip, I have so much to catch up on so I'll get right to the important stuff.
