DOODLE DRAGON STUDIO CHALLENGE #4

Happy Sunday!
Today is a new challenge over at Doodle Dragon Studio's and the theme this week is "dragons are for girls too". Thanks Kerri for giving us this cute challenge! I had fun making this card and thought perhaps a little girl somewhere would love it with the pink dragon and all the little details. I colored the dragon in copics, prismacolored pens and pencils and mounted it on foam squares to give a little dimension. I followed the sketch over at Friday Sketchers and tried some distressing on the blue and pink paper. I think it actually looks more like the little dragon nibbled on the paper than actual distressing though!!! I'll just have to keep trying. The flower and leaves are punches and the ribbon is there under the label and under the flower...but they are there! I stitched the edges of the card too and added some pretty little gems to give it a little sparkle.  As I said, I had fun with this one!

TILDA WITH PLUMS!

Happy Friday Folks!
Are you all ready to start the weekend? I know I am coz I've been running around too much this week and I need to s-l-o-w down! Too many things happening at once and not enough time to finish them. Maybe that's why I woke up with a headache this morning....my mind has not been quiet lately! Anyway...I have been wanting to use this sweet Tilda image for such a long time (I only have three little Tilda's...would love to have more though coz they are so much fun to work with), and finally I put my mind to it to complete a card, and here she is. I have to say this is definately one of my favorites that I've made. I took the sketch from Chelsea over at CLP, challenge number 21. I tried to combine a whole bunch of challenges which I will list below, not sure if I actually made the deadlines for them though. Even if I didn't, at least I had fun making this card!!
I colored sweet Tilda in prismacolored pencils and copics and changed the peaches to the color of plums. I actually attempted to distress for the first time ever! Not that you can really see it as I did it on the brown dp behind the heart...I tried to burn the edges a little but ended up burning my finger instead!! The wind was blowing outside and I was not paying attention to the lit match....hey at least I was outside otherwise it could have been the house that caught fire. No, I don't even want to think of that!
Card recipe
Image: Tilda by Magnolia
dp - DCWV Rustic stack
Flowers - Pink satin with gems - Offray 5 petal flower from Michael's, Prima from Michael's and Hirschberg Schutz floral spray in Modern Romance from Michael's
Poemstone - Creative Imaginations - from my stash
Charm - Bead Landing from Michael's
Gems - Joann's
Pearls - Basic Grey Half pearls Opaline from McMahon Five Designs

Cute Card Thursday - #100 Metal Mania
Fussy and Fancy - #4 Dazzle us
Dutch Dare - #71  Valentine's
Pixie Dust - #9 Charmed

Pile it On - #6 Flowers
Roses on Paper - #31 Pink, Brown, cream
The Corrosive Challenge - #51 Sew it up
Colour Create - #38 - Chocolate, pink, white/off white, red w/optional silver and hearts

Ok that's it for now....hope you enjoy a really wonderful weekend!

Here's a little something about Angela from Sew Many Cards.
My name is Angela and I own Sew Many Cards. I have a husband, an almost 10 year old daughter, a two year old son, and a dog/puppy: Hershey. The images of Sew Many Cards came from a dream that my husband had of a group of animals that were "SEWN Together" with patches and stitching, hence the name, which he also came up with. You will find that every image in the Sew Many Cards collection has patches and stitching, even the ones that are not animals. I love to draw and almost every image is either an inspiration from my family or a request from my great customers and design team, so please ask if you need something specific or would like to request something be made.

My card this week is made with the beautiful Thomas Kincade stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms, of which I would like to say a huge Thank you to for their extremely generous donations to the DT. I do have to tell you though I struggled so hard with this card! I love the image and was scared to not do it justice that this took me so long to make. Because there is a large portion of sky I couldn't get the correct ink on both the sky and castle, but after several attempts I finally decided to make the background of the image separate to the forground. However, then I could not get the colors of the image right nor the dp....I really don't work well with matching darker papers, but in the end I figured I would just let it be!!! So there it is. The final result is actually better than what I had hoped for!
Thank you for stopping by and for leaving your much appreciated comments. Please take the time to stop by my DT sisters blogs to check out their wonderful creations.

Listen to me going on about my weekend when I should be talking about Midnight Madness!! Oops!
OK so we are on week 40 already....wow! can you believe it! We had such a great number of entries which was fabulous for the DT to view...it's such a pleasure to visit your blogs and see all those beautiful creations!

Here's a little about Lacey...

In addition to releasing 8 new images from our Illustrator Crissy Armstrong, we will be releasing 5 images from our new artist...new to the stamping world! Come join the fun!

Our Monthly Sponsor is Cornish Heritage Farms, who so generously gave the DT lots of stamps to play around with! Thank You so much for the lovely stamps!

My card this week is using one of Stamp and Creates cute Wags n Whiskers images. Isn't she just the sweetest thing! I loved coloring this image and had fun adding all the little details too! I colored her in prismacolored pencils, added some flock to the puppy and some glitter to the wings and butterflies. I stitched the card using a scalloped stitch and added the lace and ribbon and finally the metal beads and flowers. I'm happy with how it turned out, and this is one image I will definately use again and again!

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you found a little inspiration here. Please check out my DT sisters blogs to see their gorgeous creations!

I stitched the background paper with a scalloped stitch

Added some stickles for sparkle

Designed2Delight was launched on eBay in February 2008 as my one-of-a-kind handmade card boutique. Now my love for paper, cardmaking, and rubber stamps has grown into a passion for drawing digital stamps. As a card artisian myself, I create digital stamps with the card artist in mind. My digi stamps (soon to be in red rubber) are hand drawn and truly unique! Please visit designed2delight.com to view my full range of stamps.
Cornish Heritage Farms (CHF) is owned & run by Richard & Liz Pomeroy. Why the name? Richard & Liz are originally from Cornwall, England hence the Cornish Heritage & the 'Farms' is the 100 acre farm in north central Montana where they live & where all the stamps are manufactured. Richard & Liz believe in producing a high quality product so all the stamps are deeply etched, red rubber. CHF is a diverse stamp company in the fact that it consists of a variety of different licenses & styles, ranging from very detailed (Thomas Kinkade) to simple line art (Tom Fun Collection) therefore offering something for everyone.
My card this week is using one of Faith's sweet digi images called Beary Good. The image is supposed to have a plate of cookies for Santa but as I decided to make it into a Valentine's card the cookies didn't make it....No I didn't eat them... they just disappeared!!! Ha ha! I colored the little bear in prismacolored pencils and added some stickles to add a little sparkle. The dp is by DCWV called Be Mine. Flowers are from Prima, gems and ribbon from JoAnn's.

Thank you to all you lovely crafters who left sweet comments for me last week, I so appreciate them. I have had some computer issues unfortunately when I visited other blogs, and it's becoming a daily occurance, so if I haven't commented on your cards I do apologize. I'm trying to figure out what I can do about it to prevent the problems from occuring! Thank you for your patience!
Challenges I entered
