DOODLE DRAGON CHALLENGE - SPRING IS IN THE AIR

Happy Sunday Folks!
Are you all having a great weekend so far? I sure hope so! Today is another challenge over at Doodle Dragon Studios and this time the theme is "Spring is in the Air." I know for many of you in the colder climates are so ready for Spring to start so this one is for all of you. Here in Miami the temperature is already in the high 70's and low 80's...yes, even in February! By the time Summer comes around I will be ready for some cooler weather!
The Spring project I chose to do is a cute little tin with packets of seeds inside. A nice little gift to get the plants ready for the summer time.
This is tree bear and the flowers digi from Dustin, which were both colored in copics.
I filled the tin with paper grass and added a pretty flower to the top of the tin, some ribbon to the sides of the handle and the bottom green area is done with a Martha Stewart edge punch.
This is Butter Bear as he has the butterfly in his paw! Isn't he adorable relaxing in the grass!
I'm now hooked on these tins as they are so quick and easy to decorate and the perfect size for a thoughtful gift. The tin is 6" tall and I made one super fast yesterday for a surprise party for a child and put a gift card in it. I will post that one on Tuesday. Other ideas for contents could be some little packets of seeds or a sachet of dried flowers, crayons, pencils...the list is endless. I got the tin from Michael's and will definately be making more of these!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you will take the time to check out the rest of the DT's wonderful creations.
See you all on Tuesday!
Hugs,
Charlotte

DUDLEY GROWS UP - DOODLE DRAGON RELEASE DAY!

Happy Doodle Dragon release day!
Yes that's right, Dustin has some fabby new releases today called Dudley Grows Up! There are so many cute Professional images in this set from nurses, teachers, and surgeons to a pizza chef and contractor! Just look at these...aren't they adorable!
I chose to do a nurse card as most of my friends are in that profession, I figured I'd get a head start on celebrating National Nurses Day which is May 6th. I colored Dudley in copics (not the best as mine are quickly running out of ink!), but I like how the card came out. I could have used a nurse this week as I was sick with a migraine headache for two days and boy did that make me feel miserable. Anyway, I'm happy to say I feel much better today and glad that I don't suffer from migraines very often!
My second card I made for my hubby, as he is like a mad scientist...well not really but he does work with medicines when treating sick fish!! He has a lab and microscope too so I figured this would be great to put away until the end of May for his birthday! The inside I just couldn't resist...he tends to make a mess at times when he's fixing stuff or building stuff!
So don't forget to fly on over to Dustin's blog to get these images which come in black and white and color for your convenience, then stop by the rest of the DT to check out what fabulous things they have made.
Have a lovely day!

My card was made using this sweet little girl from Paper Pretties! Isn't she darling! I had the perfect paper to use for the background too....I've had this oriental origami paper for a while but haven't used it much at all. It really is pretty as there are cherry blossoms and butterflies on it and there are four colors in the package, blue, pink, orange and green, so it can be matched with many different images.
I colored this image in prismacolored pencils and copics, layered her dress and fan out on foam dots to give a little dimension, added some stitching and a few little sparkly gems and that's about it!
The little fan was made using the same dp as the background paper. Paper, ribbon, gems and flowers are from Michael's.
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to show some love to my DT sisters.

Charlotte

DOODLE DRAGON RELEASE - HAPPILY EVER AFTER

Happy Thursday Folks! If you are a Doodle Dragon fan and love Fairy Tales, then you are going to love Dustin's new release called Ever After. Dustin is so talented and always has a way of keeping his DT happy with his adorable images, and let me tell you we all had fun working with this release....Thanks Dustin, you are the best! I've chosen the Heart castle and coach images for my cards to show you how fabby they are, but there are many more designs to chose from including Rapunzel, dragon slayer, slipper, and more!
I colored my castle in copics (my collection is small so not too much variety in colors, LOL) but I'm kinda happy how it turned out anyway.
I love to stitch on my cards and chose a pretty gold thread for these two.
Here's the coach image with the griffin's standing guard so no one can sneak a ride! Isn't it cute! I have to admit I do love pink but I'm not a princessy type at all! Anyhow, I'm sure some little princess out there will love these cards!
So, go ahead and fly on over to Dustin's to check out the rest of the release, oh and while you are there don't forget to leave some love for the rest of the DT!
Hugs,
Charlotte

MIDNIGHT MADNESS (MMSC90)

Welcome to another Midnight Madness challenge! But first, did you all get to watch the football game on Sunday? Who were you routing for the Steelers or Packers? In our house we are not big on football, more into the soccer games...but my hubby did watch the game and enjoyed it too.
Congratulations to all our winners this week
Our Masterpiece Award goes to
#26 An
Our Remarkables Awards go to
#21 Sarah Nelson
#27 Karin van Eijk
#64 Artesania

Our sponsors this week are Glitterbabe's digi's
Our monthly sponsor is Paper Pretties

For my card this week I used Stef's adorable fairy with the lilly pad from Glitterbabe's digi's. Isn't she just darling! I know I'll use this image over and over as I think she's adorable. I colored her in copics and prismacolored pencils, then added lots of stickles too...after all she does come from Glitterbabes so I figured I'd better make her glitter for Stef!!! Thanks so much Stef for this adorable image!
She kind of reminds me of all those little fairies at It's a small world in Disney. Oooh I just had an idea, multiple fairies all in different colors! How cool would that be? OK, onto the details, I used this gorgeous dp by Tim Holtz, ribbons and flowers from Michael's. Gold thread was used for the stitching and the edger is from EK Success.
Well that's it for today, but check back later in the week as I have some new releases to share with you.
Please stop by my DT sisters blogs to show them some love.
Have a wonderful day!

Charlotte

MIDNIGHT MADNESS (MMSC89)

Well hello again! It's Tuesday already and time for a little madness! Not really but hey, it sounded like a fun thing to type! So how was your weekend? Did you do anything special? I always enjoy hearing what people get up to when they are not working and have a couple of days off. My little family took off to the Florida Keys to the Stone Crab Festival in Key Largo, and enjoyed some beautiful weather out by the ocean. It was our first visit to the Festival and boy were there a lot of people! I think half the folks who reside down there were at that festival on Saturday, the other half were there on Sunday!! It's really neat and a totally different atmosphere than where we live in Miami. Definately Jimmy Buffet style, for sure! I'll share a couple of photos at the end of my post....but first let's get down to business.
Congratulations to all our fabulous winners this week! There were some gorgeous creations you made to delight the team with!
Our Masterpiece Award goes to
#32 Beate
Our Remarkables Awards go to
#16 Brenda K
#41 Wenche WTE
#47 Artesania
Our sponsor this week is a Stampin Up demo agent Jane Trossi who has a wonderful prize for one lucky winner!
Our Monthly sponsor is Paper Pretties
My card this week is designed using one of Priscilla's Valentine's images called Falling Hearts. Isn't it pretty! I had fun coloring this one in and didn't want to take anything away from the image so kept my card rather plain to allow the tree to take all the credit!
I colored the image in prisma colored pencils and copics with a couple of highlights in a white gel pen. The background dp was embossed with swiss dots and a floral swirl embossing folder which was a RAK from Ri on my other DT..thanks Ri...my secret Santa!
The lacey border and buttons are from JoAnn's fabric. I don't use buttons too often so I figured why not use them on this sketch and have to admit that I kinda like them! It's something a little different for me. The edge border punch is from Martha Stewart. Plain and simple really but I like how it turned out. Oh forgot the paper...SEI Winter Song!
I hope you will take the time to join in the fun at Midnight Madness and show us your creativity!
Don't forget to leave some love on my DT sisters blogs too!
Here are a couple of pickies from my weekend!
Two beautiful dolphins swimming together...don't they look happy!
A pelican on the post by the boats docked at Islamorada fish company. See how still the water is!
A boat decorated like a Pirate ship for the festival! Super cute for the children to see!
Well I hope your week is a good one!
Love and hugs,
Charlotte
